Well hello my ever-so-carefully-compiled gmail "blog group." I welcome you to yet another addition of "Mark and Julie go traveling and decide to share their experiences through a non-Facebook version of internet permanence." This time around however, is a tad more special, as Julie Soskolne (I know, still very weird to see), is making her rookie debut in the internetsphere (I promise this will be a word some day).
With her new status as "Soskolne-name-extinction-preventer" (there are only 3 of us to carry on this infamously pronunciation-difficult surname), Julie and myself will be partaking on a rite of passage that every Soskolne since the Boer War has experienced -- A trip to the Motherland of South Africa (also known by blog readers as "the place Skone blogs about way too much"). Now, I know at least a few of the "traditional" folks in the blog group are immediately thinking "Mark, Julie is now officially a Soskolne, you should drop the Moehlig in the blog address." To which I would respond, "why thank you anal retentive reader, but Mark and Moehlig is catchy, and Julie Soskolne is still very strange for my eye-to-brain comprehension. Thus, it will be left as is, and you will hopefully deal with such a fact accordingly." Without further ado, I leave you to anxiously await our first post from the great continent of Africa -- A place where it has taken almost a week to find an internet connection worthy of sending a single email.
